Year 1

Year 1 Tricks

Throughout the year the children revisit the Tricks they learnt in Reception and learn these new Tricks:

 Autumn 1

"Big Voice"

AIMS: To create a positive self-belief mindset through the development of 'self-talk' habits.

OUTCOMES: " I say, "I can do it" to myself and I feel strong inside."

Spring 1

"Sunny Side"

AIMS: To train positive mental reframing habits as a strategy for emotional management.

OUTCOMES: "I can choose to see the sunny side"

Summer 1

"Light Bulb"

AIMS: to develop creative thinking skills and build flexible brain connections.

OUTCOMES: "I have lots of great ideas for solving problems"
